I read the news today oh boy
The last song on Sgt Pepper, probably Lennon and McCartney's best moment in music. The massive C chord at the end of the song signalled the start of the end of the peak of their creativity (probably started by the instantly recognisable opening chord of A Hard Days Night). The first section was writtten by John, the middle by Paul and the end by John but this was very much a team effort. Paul's bass and piano in the song are sublime and Ringo's drumming is someof his best on record. Great track from a great album.
